| Prayers for the Senate (Texts and Videos) Every Senate session is opened with a prayer, either by the Senate Chaplain or by a Guest Chaplain, invited for the day. Before the appointment of the current Senate Chaplain, the Rev. Barry Black, there was an interim period when a number of Guest Chaplains offered the opening prayers for each session. Rabbi Arnold E. Resnicoff, Captain, Chaplain Corps, United States Navy, was one of the most frequently invited guests during that period. His prayers included those listed below.
